Superlens
The brief
The project was to design a brand identity for an analytic e-commerce business specialising in reporting and analytics. The brand needed a clean, professional look that conveyed precision, clarity, and efficiency—key qualities in the data-driven world of reporting. The identity also had to align with the digital nature of the business, reflecting its core service of providing comprehensive dashboards for tracking business performance.
The solution
We began by exploring different design concepts that could represent data visualisation in a simple yet effective way, focusing on elements that would be instantly recognisable in the context of dashboards and charts.
The final logo was inspired by two core visual elements: dashboard tiles and a waterfall chart. The dashboard tile concept reflects the modular structure of the layout of a dashboard, where information is neatly organised into blocks that users can easily interpret at a glance. The waterfall chart, a popular tool for visualising data over time, provided a dynamic sense of movement, symbolising the flow of information. These two concepts came together to form the basis of the logo.
At the heart of the design is the letter "S," woven into the visual structure of the mark. The "S" not only represents Superlens but also mirrors the flow of data and the step-by-step process of uncovering insights through analytics.
We chose a modern, minimalistic style to ensure the logo could be easily scaled and applied across digital interfaces. The structure formed of the mark reflect the clarity and professionalism of the brand, while the subtle data visualisation elements give it depth and relevance within the e-commerce reporting space.
